Shopping for a new Dryer
Despite my best efforts to repair the dryer, it looks like we’ll have to buy a new one. I’m disappointed because I was hoping I could fix it! I admit I didn’t try everything I could – but I also admit I’m kind of afraid to. I had a heck of a time taking it apart and testing various things and when I got it back together today I was so glad. But it still didn’t start.
We’ve only had the washer/dryer set for about five and a half years – but I know my Dad had them in storage for at least a year (maybe more) before we got them (he gave us his set and the set that we owned went to my brother and his family). I have been under the impression that dryers should last 10-14 years depending on how well you take care of it, etc. I was hoping it would last at least ten years – my Mom’s set lasted her forever!
So now begins the shopping for a dryer. I want to stick with Kenmore which means shopping at Sears. I’ve been looking online this evening and hopefully I can find something online that I can also get in the store. At least we can pick it up ourselves so that will save on the delivery charge.
