House Next Door
The past couple of weeks have been crazy around this house. My neighbor stopped by and wanted to let us know she was moving. It was sudden and not even close to what we figured would happen. She and her daughter kept to herself and we knew they were having probems paying the bills, but I never figured she would move out.
Days after telling us she was moving out, she started packing up at night. She was gone by the weekend and came back just to clean up. A couple of days after that someone came by to change the locks on the doors and lock up all the windows. This house is becoming a problem of ours since we are next door – the neighbors on the other side just moved in and they are renting the place.
I say it is a problem because there is a full trash can out in the back, a bag of trash next to it, a lawn that hasn’t been taken care of and animals that were abandoned. After searching the county website I found a handful of records ~ her mortgages, her deed, the foreclosure and the auction stating who ended up purchasing the house. Now I have a few phone calls I need to make on Monday in order to get a few things straightened out. It’s all very irritating and annoying to have to clean up someone else’s mess.
