$2 Theater
Last week at gymnastics, a friend of ours told us about the local $2 theater – somehow in living here for 16 months we never knew about it! We took the kids to the theater earlier this evening to see “Meet The Robinsons.” It was such a good movie! I usually really like the kids movies that are put out – the animation is amazing. It turns out the $2 ticket price has been changed to $2.50 and it is only for the matinée, the evening price is $4.50. This is still much cheaper then it we went to the regular theater we like to attend. For the price of four tickets, a popcorn and drink it was cheaper then just the tickets would have been at the regular theater. I think we’ve found a new regular.
I’ve always wondered how inexpensive theaters were able to be so inexpensive and I think tonight I learned why – the previews and such shown before the show started. I don’t think I’ve ever sat through as many previews as I did tonight – it was easily thirty minutes of previews as well as two Mickey Mouse cartoons. I haven’t seen a Mickey cartoon in a theater in years!
The kids did good in the theater for the first 20 or so minutes, then they started to ask when the movie was going to start. Once it did start they were fine. I’m glad we found that place though and I’m sure we’ll go back.
